CureTape® Gentle is gentle kinesiology tape and therefore very suitable to use on people with very sensitive skin such as young children or older people. CureTape® Gentle can also be used for tape applications on vulnerable areas, for example on the face or on thin skin. All the products in the CureTape® range are hypoallergenic and are manufactured in the THYSOL factory in Korea. In the rare case that someone with extremely sensitive skin has an allergic reaction then a different type of tape should be used. If the tape does not need to adhere for longer than a day then CureTape® Gentle can be used. An additional advantage is that the tape is easier to remove.

Japanese history of kinesiology tape
Kinesiology tape was developed in the 1970s in Japan. The method originated from the principles of the ‘Kinematics’ known under the English term ‘Kinesiology’. Kinesiology as a form of therapy utilises muscle testing in order determine where the muscle ROM (Range of Motion) or balance is disturbed in the body and how to restore the muscle balance back to normal function. Created in Japan this therapy was later practiced and expanded upon in Korea. It was discovered that by making use of elastic tape by the kinesiologist’s, a faster recovery of the muscle balance was achieved.
How does CureTape® Gentle work?
After application this elastic tape provides a lifting effect of the skin. The lifting effect has a great effect on blood and lymph flow, ensuring the removal of waste.
Several areas are affected in the skin:
- Moisture removal is improved. The lymphatic drainage causes things like edema and bags under the eyes and surgery fluid.
- Regeneration process of the connective tissue is stimulated.

To ensure the kinesiology tape does not cause irritation, it is important to clean the skin before applying the tape and to ensure the tape is applied correctly. Also, perform a patch tesdt and apply a small piece of tape on your skin before applying it on the area you want pain relie or support. If you experience any discomfort or pain, remove the tape immediately.
Generally, our kinesiology tape can be worn for 4-7 days. However, it is important to check the skin beneath the tape regularly and to remove the tape if any irritation or pain is experienced. Also, because of the gentle adhesion used in this type of kinesiology tape, application time can be shortened.
